In off-season,Kodaikanal hotels charge Rs 400-500 for a double bedroom with attached toilet bath where a couple can stay comfortably.
But during season,charges are too much.Prior booking will help in those days to prevent inconvenience.
For couples who come for honeymoon,it is best to go with travels & tours as they will take care of hotel booking,luggage & couple can enjoy.
Multiple lodge & restaurants are available.Many people make arrangements for a city tour in their vehicles.First enquire properly otherwise these people charge too much.There will be a forest tour.This is nice.There is a good waterfall. Boating at Kodai Lake will be a wonderful experience.
All types of food is available-veg,nonveg,punjabi,South Indian,etc.
Kodai chocolates are famous.Many families are involved in business of home-made chocolates.These chocolates are really good.Also tea, cashewnuts,etc are available at a cheaper rate.Some oils are available which help in hair growth.Purchase these things from a Govt approved shop where it will be available at a cheaper rate & product is reliable.
There is a good restaurant called "Tawa" where one gets good quality north Indian food.
How To Reach Kodaicanal
Nearest railway station is at Kodai road .From this,trains are available for Madurai, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, etc
Nearest airport is at Madurai. Coimbatore, Chennai & Trichy airports are also nearby.
One can arrange Kodaicanal & Ooty tour at the same time as both can be covered in 1 trip.Also Madurai, Kanyakumari,some Kerala beaches can be adjusted in this trip of 7-10 days.A lot of private vehicles,Govt buses,trains are available.
